Okay – well, I have lived for slightly more than 83 years, now (though it’s not ‘forever!) so have heard a great many songs in that vast time! I’m thinking a list of songs with a note about why I remember it (if I know why) will suffice.

1. She has freckles on her BUT she is nice – it might have been BUTT though, which Judy and I preferred way back when we were VERY young.
2. How much is that Doggie in the Window – we thought maybe, if we sang it often enough, mommy would get us a dog. It didn’t work.
3. That’s Amore – the good bit was the pizza pie hitting you in the eye!
4. We are Siamese if You please, (from Lady and the Tramp). We had a family of Siamese cats so it made sense.
5. Summertime – I can’t remember who sang it when I heard it first. I just loved the idea of Daddy being rich and Momma, good looking. I have heard it many times now and have loved every different singer singing it!
6. The Big Rock Candy Mountain – I think by Burl Ives. What’s not to love and remember about a mountain of candy (but not a mountain of Candy!)
7. Blue Moon – the first version I heard of this song (as far as I remember, was in the late 50s or early 60s and a modern take on the older song. I quite like both.

8. Blue Suede Shoes – I had to get Elvis in here, somewhere!

9. It’s All in The Game – sung by Tommy Edwards. I was one of those teen age girls that loved the idea of LOVE! (And me being the person who was loved!)

10. Only Make Believe – sung by Conway Twitty. (As no. 9)

11. Georgia on My Mind – Ray Charles. Loved his voice!

12. Blueberry Hill – Fats Domino. I loved the sad love story.

13. Could be any one of 100 different American 50s/early 60s and then came – THE BEATLES and so many British singers/groups.

I’m stopping here. I’ve loved all sorts of ‘pop’ songs, ‘rock’ songs, ‘folk’ songs by a long list of singers which I listened to and decided, “ah, that is my favourite!” And have forgotten.
