About Candy

I have reached the grand old age of 82 now. Until the mid 90’s I was a teacher, then a dealer in antiques and collectables which I loved! When I retired to the seaside I started a website selling antique and vintage games and wooden jigsaw puzzles. Now, I'm spending my time blogging and making oil paintings as well as looking after my very spoiled dog, Lola.

Candy in the US, sweets in the UK

Asked what is my favourite Candy, I could – if I were a narcissist – answer: myself, of course! But I’m not a complete narcissist and, too, I have a lot to say about my favourite candy. As an adult … Continue reading

Future tense vs Past tense. (And, after reading below, see the following Addendum!)

Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why? At eighty years of age I absolutely know that there are more years behind me than there are before me. Of course, I think of the past … Continue reading

The Best Gifts

What is the greatest gift someone could give you? If I could have a wish or two from a fairy godmother I would ask for World Peace first then I’d ask, probably, for clear eye-sight, better hearing and to be … Continue reading

Education from birth to the other end!

What colleges have you attended? Living, as I do, in a country which is not the USA, any college I went to would be completely unknown to most of my readers. Indeed, the two colleges I went to have disappeared … Continue reading

Hands, Knees and……What?

It started when I reached 63. We had been in Broadstairs less than a year. I’d had a very mild tummy pain for a couple of days and Julian urged me to go to the doctor. I thought it was … Continue reading
